Vintage Report 2023: The Vintage of a Lifetime
In Oakville, the 2023 growing season was one for the record books. With consistent, mild weather and one of the longest growing seasons in over a decade, the vintage yielded above-average crops with extended hang time. This exceptional year began with winter and spring rains that filled reservoirs and saturated soils, setting the stage for a robust bud break. Throughout the summer, mild temperatures (72-75°F) and abundant sunshine allowed grape skins to ripen slowly, developing rich, dark color and intense flavors.
Our Cabernet Sauvignon harvest kicked off in mid-October and wrapped up by mid-November, providing ample time for flavor development. The resulting wines are noted for their tannic backbone, freshness, purity, and elegance.
