Vintage Report 2021: A Vintage of Redemption
The 2021 vintage in Oakville was characterized by low yields and intensely flavored, small berries. The season saw minimal rain, leading to drought conditions for the second consecutive year. Harvest began early, with some blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon starting in early September. The drought conditions resulted in a natural load on the vines, requiring less pruning and fruit dropping and yielding grapes packed with flavor.
The smaller yields and berry size contributed to another outstanding year for our Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon.
